Hi there, it was mentioned that we would be using the print room in Textiles on Weds 14th May, is this still going ahead? If so what time?

I've been on holiday and only just got back tonight so missed the meeting today.

Notes from meeting - Wednesday 30th April

i took some notes during the meeting (it's the journalist in me!) so we could all see the bits and pieces we discussed in writing.


- those present had a read through of the manifesto, which everyone seemed to find really useful to get a an idea of timing, and a sense of the characters. We also noticed there was various points that calls for certain props and stage directions and we will develop these over the coming weeks.


- the venue was discussed, a few people thought it would be a good plan to go to the actual space - the new teaching block, so we'll try and get that planned.


- loads of us know people who want to help, so it was suggested that we can let those people know when the next meeting is, and perhaps as a group we could formulate a list of our individual strengths - eg dressmaking, video, sound, make-up etc


- a few people had to travel a fair distance, and suggested it would be really helpful if everyone made the effort to attend the meetings to get the most out of them.


- backdrops, props and projections were talked about, and various people thought it might be a good idea if we could get time-based art to help us with this, or perhaps get together and do some filming.


- It seems that most people have a space to work in during the day, so we thought we could all work individually but come together weekly for the swapping of ideas, rehersals, and to discuss any other issues that might come up.


- we also talked about various sponsorships, perhaps enlisting the help of a hairdressing salon to provide hair/make-up


- various themes about the actual manifesto were discussed - from the complexity of the costume to cultural references we might like to make. Between us we decided that a meeting on Monday 5th in the reception room would be a good time to bring along our first sketches to discuss possibilities.


- Perhaps getting a list of current email addresses that people use would be a good idea when we next meet. Also joining, and taking part in this blog would keep us all in touch since we're spread out all over the art college.
